Imamo opako raskrinkavanje danas. Odmah ću krenuti, ali ću krenuti sa nečime leganim, a to je raskrinkavanje Rogana i njegovog neshvaćanja komedije i viceva a on je kao stand up komičar kakav cringe video ajme meni

I love how he gets all philosophical and speaks so highly of his own writing process like he's crafting masterpieces on his ThinkPad. Pretty much all of the comedians he interviews are leagues funnier than him. Sometimes I get the feeling that the other comedians are afraid to call him out on it and they just nod their heads and play nice because they are happy to get the massive promotional opportunities his podcast affords.

It's crazy that Joe actually does jokes that include him screaming loudly at the audience and he expects people to laugh rather than be super uncomfortable. Comedy cannot be forced, it kills the whole essence of humor.

A sad idemo na nešto mračnije, nešto uz što smo odrastali a to je Jackass i Bam Margera te njegovi problemi sa svojim prijateljima, obitelji i alkoholom. Otkrio sam ovaj kanal (Joon The King) danas i video traje sat i 10 i rekoh idem pogledat početak i nisam mogao prestat gledati jer je stvarno temeljito istraženo skroz od početka njegovog djetinjstva pa do danas. Nevjerojatan je imao talenat koji je upropastio sa drogom i alkoholom i manjkom empatije. Uputite se zajedno sa mnom u memory lane i otiđimo u 90-e i rane nulte pa sve do danas. Ima nešto u tom vremenu zbog kojeg me nostalgija opere. Stvarno velika preporuka za video. Kanal sam zapratio jer ima stvarno nevjerojatno dobrih videa.

As a recovering addict. I can tell you that Bam is almost a hopeless case because he takes zero accountability for anything. Even when I was deep in it, I still blames myself for a lot.

As a dad that ending with Phil just tears me up. It's clear that he broke the rules to try and support Bam's dream, and now after it's way too late he sees in hindsight that it wasn't the right call. That I think is every good parent's worst nightmare; to look at the sum total of all your decisions with your kids later in life, and realize you're coming up in the negative. Nothing you can do to correct it, and the guilt must be terrible.

Let's be honest here... We all thought Steve O would be the one who lost it all and went crazy . So good to see how Steve O has grown and gotten clean, truly Hope Bam can follow suit.

The part with Phil at the very end is heartbreaking. He tried his best and let his kid follow his goals at a very young age. In doing so he inadvertently helped create a monster.

I understand Phill. He probably thought about school's dark side that limits children's development in a creative level, and it isn't the only option for success. He didn't want Bam to live as he did. Being flexible and understanding is one of the fundamental features of a parent. Although he could have taught Bam more accountability, it's not his fault Bam turned into whatever he is nowadays.

It's one of the worst downfalls I've ever seen. Bam was THE guy when I was in high school, everyone wanted to be him, now nobody wants to be him

I grew up with Bam and idolised him as a kid. He's the reason I tried to get into skating as a kid, it didn't go well I grew up on the country side and didn't really have place to do it even other than a small concrete patch by my house. It's really sad to see what became of him, I hope he accepts the help that's available to him. Him trying to get money from former friends shows that his wealth is dwindling but the fact that at least some of it is to be immediately put into a trust for his son shows that he's at least thinking about him somewhat.

I've know people who've done drugs without it really affecting their lives, even somewhat hard stuff like speed and coke. And I've seen others ruin their lives from just alcohol. You never know how it will affect you, but using any substance to fill a hole, whether it's cheeseburgers, booze or meth, is always a bad idea.

In Jackass, you can see Bam was the most vindictive, aggressive and whiniest of the group. I always felt he played his pranks with mean spiritedness, and with a lack of humility and self deprecation all the others had.

I was never a Bam fan, even back in the day before Jackass was over. I remember when his show was big too, and it left a bitter taste in my mouth. When I heard things starting going really south for him I had a, "HA! Serves ya right feeling!" After seeing that moment of him crying and saying none of his old friends cared about him, ouch. I wish him the best, and I hope he gets the help he needs.

I think everyone that parties in their earlier days had a Bam Margera in their group. When everyone grew up and said enough to the partying and went off to be adults, guys like Bam never stopped partying. All these guys end up being lonely drunks and it’s the saddest thing to witness.

As an alcoholic in recovery, I've had to come to the realization that Bam might be one of the ones that addiction/alcoholism might defeat unless he consciously decides that he wants to live and has to get sober. Sobriety also means changing his thought process because being on, as they say in AA that I go to, a "dry drunk" could be arguably as destructive as drinking/using

this is besides the obvious point but I appreciate including HIM in this doc; others I've seen don't even mention the band which is boggling considering how much Bam loved HIM, got his heartagram icon from them, aided their trajectory by directing some of their videos — and how it affected his substance use.

Nakon ovog videa od istog kanala malo gledam što još ima i naiđem na raskrinkavanje jednog legendarnog kanala kojeg sam volio gledati ranih 10-ih baš mi je upotpunjavao dane i noći sa svoim recenzijama. Iako ovo nije konkretno raskrinkavanje u pravom smislu te riječi ali Doug Walker se nije niti malo promijenio jer nije rastao sa svojom publikom. Ostao je u 2008. godini. Zanimljivo je gledati ovako nešto jer sam volio taj kanal i stvarno me grijao u lijepim vremenima i zimskim noćima.

To briefly summarize what happened with the Nostalgia Critic, his audience grew up, he didn't.

As I heard someone say; Doug's greatest strength is also his biggest weakness. He's basically immune to criticism, brushing it off like it's nothing or playing along with it. It's incredible for him because he's never discouraged and never crushed by people making fun of him or parodying his stuff. Yet that same issue is the flaw, as any problems you have with his work he just shrugs it off, so he never feels the need to change.

The heaviest armor is great for blocking swords, terrible if you're trying to swim.

I almost refuse to believe Doug Walker could make content for so long without figuring out lighting, audio, white balance, blocking, composition, or even how to tell a story. And yet here we are.

I think it's interesting because Doug himself doesn't seem to be an awful person but more an accidental inconvenience, like a baby walking through a loony tunes construction site

This is a tale that really illustrates for me why actors, authors, musicians have managers and agents. You need someone detached from the work to take care of internal and public relations. Yikes.

I remember when I first found him. Him and AVGN got me through some real tough years as a teen. I'm 31 now- still love them.

Honestly, Doug effectively revolutionized YouTube content creation with his style back then. To this day, we don't do much else than watch "react" videos, after all. He simply was the first one to do it and he took it pretty far with lots of simplicity. I can't fault him for otherwise being a relatively incurious person, who's only interested in spreading their creative wings. Just being good at one thing doesn't really mean anything bad imho. Lots of people are dogshit at everything, because they lack passion, ambition, skill or simple charisma. So "Oh he's just good at doing a single thing" is always a dumb criticism, I think. We don't all need to be multi talented gods.

That being said, the abuse and mismanagement of Channel Awesome and all the previous iterations really are genuinely despicable. I think with a more competent CEO, Channel Awesome could've gone far. But as incurious as Doug is in terms of analysing art (See his lackluster The Wall), Mike seems to be even more incurious about.. well.. doing his job managing a thing that hundreds of thousands, if not even millions world wide, have appreciated over the years.

The mid 2000s were a different era of YouTube where people who yelled at bad video games or movies got tons of subscribers and engagement. The likes of Nostalgia Critic, AVGN, Irate Gamer, Spoony etc could be considered in this category, where their angry reviewer trope was extremely popular.

That kind of humor might appeal to our teenage selves, but as we grow up and become adults, we would either find it unfunny or annoying instead. AVGN's content evolved (which is why he is still quite relevant), but the NC did not, which was why many of his fans left him, while Spoony (sadly) had a ton of personal problems that made him not continue making videos.

Considering how just generally kind and supportive everyone says Linkara is in general and how specifically supportive he was towards the people CA was screwing over, this paints him in a weirdly negative light for what little he's mentioned.

In an odd sort of irony, the Nostalgia Critic himself makes me realize that maybe the times I feel nostalgia for weren't so great after all. Looking back and realizing that we used to think his videos were funny puts into perspective just how powerful rose colored glasses can be.

Nostalgia Critic and Cinemasins used to be making fun of snob critics who always cherry picking some of the smaller aspects of the movies that needs to be criticized as a joke, but now became the very thing they've been parodied.

It's funny how Doug was infinitely better in his humble beginnings than now. Instead of progressing he only ever seemed to regress.
