Horor film postoji preko 100 godina, a Djedica i Krampus postoje isto dugo.

“He’s not Freddy (A Nightmare on Elm Street) or Jason (Friday the 13th) or Leatherface (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), this unstoppable monster that kicks down your door and rampages and grabs you,” he says. “If you study the myth, there’s something darkly playful about him. He’s having a good time doing what he does and he enjoys the cat-and-mouse aspect of it.”

Film je pušten kritičariama.

bloody-disgusting
In his follow-up to the 2007 cult Halloween-themed hit, Trick ‘r Treat, writer/director Michael Dougherty proves once again that he is the master of holiday horror movies. Just as Trick ‘r Treat became a go-to favorite during the month of October for genre fans, Krampus is sure to become a default film for cinephiles who are looking for something a little darker to watch in the midst of all of the festivities.

If parents feel comfortable bringing their youngsters along to the theater, this scary little PG-13 peek into the frightening ancient mythology of the German demon is an excellent way to spend the first week of December. Those who plan to attend Krampus will get to share a few jumps and laughs with their family, and, most importantly, they’ll be happily and willingly participating in an activity together during the most cherished time of the year, just as director Dougherty intended.
Daily Dead
KRAMPUS is an Instant Holiday Classic Filled with Twisted Fun.

The creatures themselves are incredible, especially our titular monster that feels like it was plucked straight out of the pages of some harrowing old-time German fairy tale meant to scare children into being good centuries ago. Krampus also brings along a few friends, transforming several children’s toys and token holiday creatures into demonic forces unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

Very few directors have been able to successfully tackle a singular holiday with pure confidence as a storyteller, but somehow Dougherty has done it twice, first with Trick ’r Treat and now with Krampus, which is a pretty monumental achievement when you really think about it. For those of you who love the holidays, for those of you who don’t and for everyone in between, Krampus is the perfect blending of yuletide-themed horror and heart, making for an instantaneous classic that you’re sure to revisit each and every year. I know I will.
Hitfix
This is one of the most intense PG-13 films I've ever seen, with a nightmarish second half in particular full of images that really will be too much for many younger viewers. Michael Dougherty, who co-wrote and directed the film, has a fondness for the truly off-kilter, and his monster designs in this film feel very tactile and organic and perverse. You wouldn't want to touch anything you see onscreen.
The hollywood news
As with all good horror films Dougherty teases Krampus throughout and gives glimpses here and there, following the mantra less is more. He is built up and up before the big reveal. Krampus himself is a visual delight but it is the sound design of the cloven-hoover beast that is really wondrous. The noise is so intense that if you watch it in the right conditions you’ll feel your chair vibrating.
Flicker
Director Michael Dougherty (known for the excellent horror anthology Trick ‘r Treat, also serving as a writer on Krampus) dives into the basic elements of holiday grumps and dysfunctional families, elevating it into cult classic horror featuring very imaginative and terrifying, yet also lighthearted conceptual designs of different monsters.

Krampus actually gets darker as the movie progresses, ending on a note left open to interpretations either jovial or depressing, depending on your viewpoint. Nevertheless, I admire the writers for sticking with a non-conventional ending, punctuating this unique experience with a fitting conclusion.

Ostajem doma i onda gledat. Ovako kad gledam u kinu ne moguse prestrašiti.
