2007., uoči izlaska njihovog zajedničkog projekta Gridhouse (Planet Terror & Death Proof), Robert Rodriguez i Quentin Tarantino su u sklopu South by Southwest festivala organizirali natjecanje u kojem je zadatak bio snimiti fake trailer za fake exploitation film. Pobjednik je dobio tu čast da mu se trailer prikazuje u kinu ispred Gridhouse filmova, zajedno sa ostalim fake trailerima mnogo poznatijih redatelja kao što su Rob Zombie, Edgar Wright i Eli Roth koji su također snimili svoje fake trailer za tu priliku. Pobjednk je bio Jason Eisener sa svojim krvavim trailerom "Hobo with a Shotgun".
No, ubrzo nakon toga, pala je odluka da se taj trailer pretoči u dugometražni film, što ovaj film čini pored "Machetea" drugim trailerom koji je doživio i svoju dugometražnu verziju.
Produkcija filma se ovih dana privodu kraju, glavnu ulogu u filmu igra Rutger Hauer, a društvo mu još od poznatijih lica s TV ekrana pravi i Gregory Smith, najpoznatiji kod nas po ulozi Ephrama u seriji "Everwood". Trailer će se prikazivati ispred Rodriguezovog film "Machete" a premijera filma se očekuje tamo negdje na proljeće 2011.

Bas mi je drago kada holivudske face odluce potraziti ideje van 'njihovog svijeta', pa onda shvate da su ljudi prepuni odlicnih ideja!bas kao sto je i ova!!...a ne samo cijediti saw 109309184932 nastavkom...Ovo ce se gledati svakako!
Jebem skoro svaki dan...skoro jučer, skoro prekjučer...

brutalno, ali blesavo... valjda bude nešto u grindhouse stilu, makar mi je trailer dosadan...

A ne znan, nakon šta me Machete razočara, ne polažen više nade u nasljednike PT-a. Mada mi se ovo čini znatno drukčije, pa i "ozbiljnije".
