O filmu:
A History of Violence is a 2005 American crime/thriller film directed by David Cronenberg, and written by Josh Olson, based on the graphic novel of the same name by John Wagner and Vince Locke. The film features Viggo Mortensen as the owner of a diner who is thrust into the spotlight after killing two robbers in self-defense. The film was put into limited release in the United States on September 23, 2005, and wide-release on September 30, 2005. It has the distinction of being the final major Hollywood motion picture released on VHS. William Hurt was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, while Josh Olson was nominated for Academy Award for Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay).

Plot:
Tom Stall, a humble family man and owner of a popular neighborhood restaurant, lives a quiet but fulfilling existence in the Midwest. One night Tom foils a crime at his place of business and, to his chagrin, is plastered all over the news for his heroics. Following this, mysterious people follow the Stalls' every move, concerning Tom more than anyone else. As this situation is confronted, more lurks out over where all these occurrences have stemmed from compromising his marriage, family relationship and the main characters' former relations in the process.

Baš dobar film s odličnim izborom glumaca, makar pretjerani akcijski završetak. Čak dobro slijedi strip, ali završetak je totalno izmijenjen, što je čudno s obzirom da bi bilo po redateljevom guštu...

trebalo mi je vremena da konačno ovaj film pogledam u cjelini i ajme...

iz blagosti prelazi u toliki naturalizam da je teško pratiti neke scene hladne glave.
oduševio me fokus na odnos muža i žene i ljepota koja postoji u njemau, a kasnije i mučnina i težina.
"vanjska" priča nudi dobru fiksaciju za praćenje radnje, a ona unutarnja, intimna je nešto što već dugo nisam doživjela gledajući neki film.

cronenbergu, bravo!

Ovo me podsjetilo na još jedan film s nekim dodirnim točkama, meni bolji.. pa ću neš napisati o njemu

Kako je ovaj film jebeno dobar! Pogledao sam ga bezbroj puta i tu mi je definitivno njegova najbolja uloga!
Jebem skoro svaki dan...skoro jučer, skoro prekjučer...

uvijek me iznenadi ta količina vrlo brutalnog nasilja u filmu. :mrgreen:
