Pustolovni fantasy film u Britansko/Češko/Francuskoj koprodukciji pod redateljskom i scenarističkom palicom Michaela J. Bassetta ("Deathwatch" i "Wilderness"). Radi se o ekranizaciji romana popularnog pisca Roberta E. Howarda, tvorca Conana. Ovo bi navodno trebao biti prvi film iz zamišljene trilogije, ali postavlja se veliko pitanje da li će Solomon Kane ikada zaživjeti kao junak trilogije pošto je već ovaj film imao pregršt problema tijekom predprodukcije. Naime, film je u produkciju krenuo još 2001., i tada gl. ulogu trebao odigrati ni više ni manje nego Christopher Lambert, no tada se je 2003. cijeli projekt "raspao" po okriljem kompanije New Line. Tek je 2006. spomenuti Michael J. Bassett odlučio napisati novu verziju scenarija i režirati film s budžetom od 40 mil$, te je glavnu ulogu dodjelio glumcu Jamesu Purefoyu, a neke od glavnih uloga igraju i legendrani Max von Sydow, Pete Postlethwaite te Jason Flemyng. Sa snimanjem se započelo još početkom 2008 u okolici Praga ali informacije o ovom filmu (slike ili mogući trailer) su iznimno rijetke, odnosno, ne postoje. Ali zato je film kako se čini, svoju premjeru doživio ovih dana na Cannesu, a OVDJE možete pročitati i jednu od prvih recenzija koja je iznimno pozitivna, s toga nadajmo se da ćemo uskoro dobiti vuše informacija pa da se i sami uvjerimo u to.

The first part in a trilogy series, Solomon Kane is an epic adventure adapted from the classic pulp stories by Robert E. Howard, creator of "Conan the Barbarian." Solomon Kane (James Purefoy) is a 16th Century soldier who learns that his brutal and cruel actions have damned him. Determined to redeem himself, Kane swears to live a life of peace and goodness but is forced to fight once more when a dark power threatens the land.

Čudi me kako se ja nisam sijetio da otovrim post o njemu :oops: kad mi je jedan od najdražih likova...

Dobro da si našao prvu recenziju filma....i bogme mi se sviđa napisano.

A ako koga zanima sve o ovom prvom borcu (u akcijskom smislu) protiv zla...bacite oko na moj post o njemu:

Great Day for Robert E Howard fans! 1st: The Rat is off Conan!!! 2nd: Harry has seen SOLOMON KANE and it is wonderful!
When you go to see this film - and you definitely should (when a distributor smart enough picks it up) - go in knowing this is the first film. This is the film they made before any American studio was smart enough to buy into Bassett's vision for Howard's world. Before they knew James Purefoy could carry a film like fucking Atlas. And at the end, you'll hope for the next adventure - hoping for a straight adaptation - where perhaps he'll finally get his Staff of Solomon. This is the adventure that hypes us up for more and that's the best I could have hoped for the first SOLOMON KANE adaptation. A desire to see more from this same team!

Živio Solomon Kane film jer napokon je lijepo čitati odlične kritike za film koji dugo očekuješ, a još kad sam vidio pozitivne kritike Drag me to Hell...ima se što gledati ove godine 8)

Na žalost koliko ja znam ništa....

Jedino što je izašlo par Marvelovih stripova u Conan Sagi, ali postoji mogućnost da se nešto objavilo u Siriusu...ali to je možda 1% mogućnosti

Ja san prije neki dan pročita sve njegove priče i stripove u originalu, isplati se. :wink:
