There are various internet reports saying that Johnny Depp is getting paid between $50 - 75 MILLION Dollars to come back nad reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Can you say Cha-Ching? You will recall that Keira will not be returning for the next film since she seems to have moved on to new things.

As far as where the story might go some time back AICN got a scoop from a source that told them;

In regards to PIRATES, two dramatically conflicting assessments about how a fourth film might be approached have been making the rounds. Some indications suggest the film's story would be far more contained than its predecessors, allowing for a budget-friendly downsizing.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, there's been unsubstantiated talk that a fourth film would go the other way completely...think in terms of ultra fantastical (dinosaurs, Jules Verne-esque floating fortresses, etc.) Not sure how I feel about either notion, to be honest. Not sure if I even care to see a fourth PIRATES film at all.

I like the sounds of that alot. I think the films will work just fine without Keira since for me its all about Depp and his quirky pirate character.

So there’s a rumor floating around the net that Disney has Tim Burton lined up as a possible replacement for Verbsinki should the director not return...Most excitingly, there are talks of Captain Jack having a brother in the next movie, possibly to be played by Sacha Baron Cohen (perfect!) or Russell Brand (even more perfect!)
